 2019 Estate Ballfield Syrah is everything you want in a bottle of Syrah – deep garnet colors, velvety mouthfeel, and a lingering finish. Roasted plum notes on the nose mingle with boysenberry and cherry flavors on the palate and accentuated by that classic pepper Syrah finish. Head to the mountains and grill up some lamb chops or a burger for a much-needed night out in the mountains. Enticing strawberry and baking spice aromas hint at things to come. Full bodied with blackberry and dark plum introductions before secondary layers of leather, cigar box, cola, mocha and an underlying hint of tar. Mild tannins at the start but these expand to a bolder, silky presence. The finish drops a little but the dark fruit, cigar and mocha keep trying.
