This introductory vintage captures the vision behind the ‘S’ label. Dark and dense from color to the core, the wine is complex and layered, with intriguing nuance. The bouquet opens with black fruit complemented by graphite, lavender and leather. Silky and juicy tannins stretch the finish to new lengths, bringing mocha, cedar and chai spice along for the ride. Very dark garnet in color, this wine smells of black cherry and cola. In the mouth, bright cherry cola flavors mix with darker notes of licorice and cocoa powder. Excellent acidity keeps things bright and faint fleecy tannins tickle the edges of the palate. Lush and bright, and likely quite crowd-pleasing.
