This dark red colored Zinfandel from Coombsville opens with a black cherry and black raspberry bouquet with hints of tobacco leaf and. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is round and very nicely balanced for a Zin. The flavor profile is a tasty spiced black plum and cranberry blend with notes with notes of gentle boysenberry and oak. We also detected hints of black cherry-cola, and faint chalky minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins fade away nicely. This Zin would pair well with pork chops with cherry pan sauce or blue-ribbon barbeque.
