The newest up-and-comer on the Ducru-Beaucaillou line is made from fruit planted in St-Julien, and spends 12 months in oak (1/3 new), demonstrating not only the rigorous quality of the estate but also this site's potential in the years to come. Already impressive today, this wine will only continue to improve with each vintage as the vines mature. Today, it brims with ripe red-and-black cherry, red plum, and black currant fruit, interwoven with violet and a hint of mature forest floor. Ripe in texture, its fruit on the palate is backed by a supple spine of acidity, culminating in ultra-fine tannins that make it an ideal pairing for roast pork shoulder, baked pasta with sausage and cheese, or grilled mushrooms and eggplant.
