This is an interesting wine for Germany... as Kékfrankos is the Hungarian name for Blaufränkisch, where the grape originates from, but has perhaps gained more recognition from Austrian producers on the world stage, where it‘s big fruit bursts can really come into full effect with natural wine producers.As Bianka and Daniel Schmitt live and farm in Rheinhessen, Germany even having this grape is unusual and their terroir brings a different element to those familiar with the grape from Austria and Hungary.
