Alex Gambal La Maltroie Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru 750ml
The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroye, which belongs to the domaine and is under conversion to biodynamie, has an attractive, almost Puligny-like bouquet that is taut, neutral in style but well-defined and very crisp. Touches of smoke emerge with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with lively lime and lemon zest notes. There is a little more weight here compared to Gambal's other white 2011s and there is a citric freshness and zestiness toward the pleasing, energetic finish.
