Classic Clonakilty family recipe Irish Whiskey that is produced using only the highest quality grains, While still maintaining the traditional triple-distilled method of production, this whisky is rested and finished in entirely different casks. In order to gain notes of maple, subtle char, and fine oak - this single barrel expression is initially aged in second use, American Oak, Bourbon barrels. After this aging process, the entire batch is finished in Armagnac casks, thus employing French Oak casks that were previously used for Armagnac aging. French oak adds soft wood accents, while Armagnac adds a fruit dimension that is gained solely from spirits distilled from grapes. This way, the stone fruit, apricot, and pear make a delightful entry onto the palate and the French Oak softens the spice and tobacco elements that most strictly fine-oak whiskies can ever have.
