Castello di Camigliano Gualto Brunello di Montalcino 2016 750ml
The land upon which the Camigliano estate resides was certainly inhabited by the Etruscans who followed the course of the Ombrone River from the coastal Maremma area. It then became quite an important hamlet in the late medieval period, an outpost for Montalcino, joining in the fight to defend republican freedom in the middle of the 16th century. Today, Gualtiero Ghezzi, with the assistance of his wife, Laura, and children, Silvia and Isabella, produce 330,000 bottles of Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, Poderuccio IGT, Gamal Vermentino IGT, Bianco delle Crete IGT ,Borgone IGT, in addition to the Grappa and Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Terre di Siena DOP. This is a great wine with intense aromas and balanced tannins that is able to express all the characteristics of the "terroir" in quality and typicality in the selection of clones in addition to the choice of the sunniest terrain with the best location. A classy wine that promises an interesting evolution that will extend over time. Best served at the optimal temperature of 18°C and paired with game, beef and aged cheeses, but it can also be served alone as a meditation wine.
