Barrel 29 “de Gaulle” is named for French statesman Charles de Gaulle, whose long career serving France as Brigadier General, Prime Minister, and President ran concurrently with the distillation—on his home soil—of this very spirit. Crafted from eight different vintages—including 1965, the year de Gaulle was elected to his second term as president—BHAKTA 50 “de Gaulle” is a delightful blend of fermented plums and pears, chocolate, and earth with a definitive peaty finish.
An astonishing blend of Islay-finished Armagnac crafted from eight rare vintages: 1868 – 1888 – 1941 – 1956 – 1962 – 1965 – 1967 – 1970 . With this barrel, we toast to the strong-willed leaders who shape history.
